When you're too young to go to the bar/club, and you do not have a fake? Not every pre will have to be the end of your night:
Res parties - A party thrown in a student residence at University (dorm or apartment style). Generally, res parties have an abundance of underage participants engaging in different types of illegal activities, primarily drinking underage. Res parties are subject to the Don's (RA's) discretion, if it is too loud there is a 95% chance the party will be shut down by the Dons.
Corah: "Babe, were you at the party at Bricker on Friday?"
Claire: "Yeah it was fun until the Dons came and asked us all to leave."
Corah: "Awh... Who's even bout' dat shutdown lyfe doe?"
Claire: "It's cool, we went to Little House to finish the pre, then we hit up the Turret."
House Parties - A party thrown off-campus in student housing generally leased by upper-year students. A variety of students can be found at these parties, however their size limits them to a particular clique.
Bravs: "Yo man, you wanna reach that house party on Ezra tonight?"
Steve: "Nah man, the buddy who invited me is a hipster. He told me that all of his hipster friends would be there... I feel inadequate and way too mainstream to party with them."
Block Parties - A party thrown on an entire block/ street during a particular celebration (e.g. Ezra on St. Paddy's). These parties are generally anticipated by local police, Laurier has a particularly tame reputation in comparison to other schools *cough* Fanshawe *cough*... Local police collect a year's worth of drinking in public tickets and public urination tickets at these block parties.
Raf: "Dude, Ezra was wicked on St. Paddy's."
Gregg: "Yah dood, but I got two tickets: one for drinking in public and another for urinating in public..."
Gregg: "It's cool though man, the officer cut me some slack since they were both at the same time..."
Raf: "How much is it?"
Themed Parties - Themed parties can be thrown either in a house or in residence. However, the students that throw this party make it necessary for anyone to get in to come dressed to abide to a particular theme.
Keggers - A party generally thrown in off-campus housing but has been seen in residence on the rare occasion (i.e. because they last less than an hour) which have (a) beer keg(s). These parties generally attract a variety of students which makes them so popular and so big. It is common to have to pay to get in (either $5 or $10) however once you do get in - it is an all you can drink event.
Brent: "Dude do you wanna throw a kegger tonight."
Dillon: "Bro, we have no money."
Scott: "GUYS! No worries, I've got a new credit card with a $3000 today..."
Brent: "I'm calling the football team."
MLSB Keggers - These parties are keggers thrown during the summer for the Major League SoftBall (MLSB) organized by third year business students (particularly those in coop). These keggers are thrown a minimum of twice a week (Wednesdays and Fridays) and are great for mixing and matching with the bar nights above as a pre.
Chandler: "Wanna hit up the MLSB Kegger on Wednesday - then rage at Phil's for Hip-Hop Wednesday?"
Emily: "Is that a question? I've been ready to go since like... 4PM"
Pancake Keggers - These parties are commonly thrown during big celebrations (e.g. Homecoming). Pancake keggers carry along the same characteristics as normal keggers BUT you get pancakes included in your entrance fee, and typically along with access to purple drank (a large tub of grape juice and vodka you are welcome to scoop out with your solo cup) as well.
Daynon: "Yo reach pancake kegger on Hazel doe?"
Mike: "Nah that ain't me."
Daynon: "They got purple drank."
Mike: "Is it from concentrate?"
Mike: "Doesn't matter, I'm in."
